Morley von Sternberg trained, qualified, and began his career as an architect before establishing his name as one of Britain’s most respected architectural photographers. He has been commissioned to photograph an extraordinary array of landmark buildings, including Heathrow’s Terminal 5 and the Maggie Centre in Hammersmith, West London, both by Rogers, Stirk, Harbour + Partners, and portraits of some of their creators and patrons, including Zaha Hadid, Antony Gormley, Herzog & de Meuron and Lord Foster.
Morley regularly works overseas, and was recently commissioned by I.M. Pei to photograph the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, and by Sir Michael Hopkins to photograph the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University.
Morley has been commissioned by many of the leading practices and magazines. His credits include work for The Sunday Times and The Independent and FT Magazines, as well as the principle architectural and design press, including the RIBA Journal, Architects’ Journal and Building Design. Morley has also been the sole contributor of photographs to a number of books, including Berthold Lubetkin (text by John Allan) and Modern: The Modern Movement in Britain (text by Alan Powers).
